ArchieveGrid and CAMIO

Archive Grid:

1.) I looked up Sitting Bull and discovered that he is also known as Tatanka Iyotake or Tatanka Iyotanka or Ta-Tanka I-Yotan, he was a Native American shaman and leader of the Hunpapa Sioux.

2.) I searched Homestake Gold Mine and it came up with a number of results.  I looked at Gold Run Gulch first record book 1876. It is located at Brigham Young University.  I found out I need to pack my bags if I want to look at the item.

CAMIO

1.) I looked up Paul Revere and it came up with 35 results.  It had some pictures of Paul Revere and it also had items that were classified under utilitarian objects.

2.) The search for Sioux yielded 63 results.  I picked the second result and it was a gauntlets which are gloves with a extra piece sewn on with bead work decoration.  The white outlining and floral designs are of the Santee Sioux work.Very impressive work.

3.) I searched a well known artist Vincent Van Gogh and the search came up with 63 results.  The first result was Shears of Wheat which reminds me of all the wheat fields around my grandparents house where I spent many summer days.  It gave a great description of the work.

4.) I think that our library would use this mainly for students that my be writing a paper.

5.) I really liked the compare feature where you could get a side by side look at different prints.  I liked the slide show it was fun to create.  The "add to favorites" was fun and easy to use.  Its a great way to narrow down a list of artwork.
